Fair Trade Towns Initiatives:
PEDEC is a founder member of the Powys Fair Trade Coalition and works at capacity building the Fair Trade Towns initiatives based in Powys.

Fair Trade Schools:
PEDEC supports schools in Powys to achieve Fairtrade status. Sue Richards has been dealing with those in South Powys (but she has now handed over to Sue Thorne) and Diane Isenberg with those in North Powys. We have resources on Fair Trade suitable for all the Key Stages that schools may borrow through our Resource Loan Service. There is also an Action Pack that schools may send for.
The following schools have attained the Fairtrade status:
- Glasbury
- Gladestry
- Penmaes
- Llanigon
- Hay-on-Wye
and these are well on the way:
- Crossgates
- Whitton
- Bronllys
- Mount Street
- Llangattock
- Builth Wells High School
