PEDEC has been involved in many community-based initiatives both formally and informally throughout its existence.
Soundsattainable: This project aims to assist consumers to understand, adopt and develop 'Sustainable Lifestyles' by looking at 14 different areas of everyday life, making it easy for the ordinary Powys citizen to make the transition. The Soundsattainable website details what Sustainable Development is in plain English or Welsh and seeks to demystify the jargon of Sustainable Development to reach a wider audience. www.soundsattainable.powys.org.uk
Fair Trade Towns Initiatives: PEDEC is a founder member of the Powys Fair Trade Coalition and helped to set up the Fair Trade Towns initiatives based in Powys. Powys became a Fair Trade County in November 2007. For more information on Fair Trade visit:

Moving Pictures: we are currently seeking funding to employ a Community worker who will facilitate a network of film groups in Mid Wales. Feature films will be chosen to bring a critical understanding of ESDGC into the wider adult community. Update - unfortunately we were not successful in our application to the Big Lottery for this post, but we will keep on trying. If you think that this is a good idea, then please let us know as we need to show more support for the project.
