Powys Environment and Development Education Centre
"PEDEC has been established to advance the education of the public in subjects concerned with the knowledge and understanding, skills, attitudes and values that enable people to become aware of issues related to development, environment and sustainability."
STOP PRESS
PEDEC has been successful in obtaining funding for the second year of our project for secondary schools called Race Towards Equality: Educating Global Citizens. Three High Schools in Powys took part in the first year of this project - Llanidloes, Builth Wells and Welshpool - and three are participating this year - Gwernyfed, John Beddoes and Llandrindod. If your school would like to take part, starting in September 2012, then you should contact Jacinta on 01686 412731 or by email jacinta@pedec.org.uk for more information.

Did you know that Powys is the county with the largest number of schools in Wales to attain Fair Trade status? The latest was Llanidloes High School who heard the news just before Christmas. Go to the Fairtrade page to learn more. We hope that you are all busy with your preparations for this year's Fairtrade Fortnight theme - Take a Step for Fair Trade.
